North Carolina
North Carolina- EO284-SOE_TS-Idalia
The Governor has declared a State of Emergency in advance of the anticipated impacts to North Carolina from Idalia.
In addition to the SOE to activate the SERT the Order also includes the following:
- Hours of Service for (1) persons transporting supporting emergency relief efforts with the delivery of essential fuels, food, water, non-alcoholic beverages, medical supplies, feed for livestock and poultry, (2) persons transporting livestock, poultry, and crops ready to be harvested and (3) vehicles used in the restoration of utility and transportation services.
- With the concurrence of the Council of State the waiving enforcement of certain size and weight restrictions and penalties up to 90,000 pounds gross weight.
- Temporary suspension of weighing vehicles used to transport livestock, poultry, livestock or poultry feed, or crops ready to be harvested upon the recommendation of the Commissioner of Agriculture.
- The triggering of the price gouging law.
South Carolina
Governor McMaster Declares State of Emergency for South Carolina
Governor Henry McMaster today issued Executive Order 2023-29, declaring a State of Emergency in preparation for the potential effects from Hurricane Idalia, and asks South Carolinians to monitor local forecasts and to begin taking proper precautions. The governor’s order directs the South Carolina Emergency Management Division to coordinate with all relevant state agencies and to be prepared to respond to any requests for state assistance from local officials and county emergency management leaders.
Georgia
Georgia- EO Declaring a State of Emergency for Hurricane Idalia
Governor Brian P. Kemp today issued a State of Emergency order for all of Georgia in preparation for Hurricane Idalia’s anticipated impact later this week. Currently, the storm system is expected to move through the state Wednesday, bringing heavy rainfall and damaging winds throughout Southeast Georgia. The State of Emergency went into effect upon the governor’s signature today, August 29, and will expire at 11:59pm on Friday, September 8, 2023. You can read Executive Order 08.29.23.01 here.
